The CDE Department has developed this course in response to the very important need for the profession to have this resource to help cope with the increasing burden of regulatory requirements for dental offices. The Ontario Government has signalled they are going to focus on ensuring compliance and documentation of important employment and human rights policies required by small businesses, including dental offices. Dentists who are unaware of these issues are exposed to significant fines and professional embarrassment via public exposure for non-compliance.  While the development of this course made the cost more expensive than other 6 point courses, we believe the value is well worth it in comparison to other methods of obtaining this information and, more importantly, compliance documents that can be created as part of the course.

Why is it important for staff to take this course?

Part of an employer’s obligations is to ensure that staff receives training in these areas and understands the policies on such things as bullying and sexual harassment, and what options they have if they feel they have suffered these issues in the workplace. CE certificates to prove this has training has taken place needs to be in the employees file. This course, and the certificates available by taking it, will meet that obligation.

How Staff Vouchers Work

At checkout you will have the opportunity to add Staff Vouchers. On the checkout page, you can opt to send these individually to staff members or have them sent to you.

If you choose to have them sent to you, the Voucher coupon codes will be sent to you in the Order Confirmation email you will receive after payment. You can then in turn forward a Voucher (in the form of a coupon code) to each staff member you wish to take the course.

Each staff member will need to register for utooth.ca and then select HR – STAFF VERSION from the Course Select page. As they checkout, they enter the Voucher coupon code you have provided to them and they will get the course at no cost to them. They can then complete the course and they will receive a Certificate of Completion. Having these Certificates on file will be best practice for dental offices intent on compliance with all current legislation.
